Overview
Over time, foot traffic, dust and sand dull even good floors. WrapRevive polishes hard flooring in Dubai homes and commercial spaces to restore an even sheen, after assessing which surface treatment is right for the material.
Polishing is not one process. Marble and terrazzo are typically honed and polished with graded abrasives, timber is cleaned and re-coated or buffed with a finish suited to its existing coating, and sealed concrete may be burnished. Using the wrong method can dull a surface or damage a finish, so the first step is identifying the material and its current condition.
Dubai conditions play a part. Fine sand acts as an abrasive underfoot and can scratch a surface long before it looks dirty, and polished floors can also show water marks and etching from acidic spills. We clean the floor thoroughly, test a small area where useful and discuss how much improvement is realistic for the level of wear.
Polishing improves surface sheen and evenness but cannot repair deep scratches, cracks, missing tiles or structural problems. Deep damage needs repair or restoration first. Polished stone can also be slippery when wet, so we discuss whether a lower sheen or anti-slip treatment is wise, particularly in entrances, bathrooms and commercial areas.
