Installation begins by measuring the opening and checking that the frame is square and plumb. The door is trimmed if required, hinges are mortised and fixed, and the lock or latch is fitted so the strike plate lines up accurately. Gaps around the leaf are set evenly, with enough clearance at the floor for flooring, rugs and airflow.
The result depends on the condition of the frame and the door itself. Solid or heavy doors need strong hinge fixings, and doors exposed to humidity or sun should be chosen with that in mind. This service suits new doors you have purchased or are about to buy. If the issue is an existing door that sticks or sags, door repair may be the quicker and more economical answer.
