Carpentry & Furniture Works
Replacement of worn, rusted or broken hinges on cabinets, wardrobes and doors so they hang and close correctly.
Overview
Hinges wear out quietly, then show up as doors that sag, rub or will not stay shut. WrapRevive replaces hinges on cabinet doors, wardrobes and room doors, matching the type and fixing to the door and frame. It is a small job that often makes a noticeable difference.
The first step is identifying what is wrong. Loose screws that have stripped the board, bent or rusted hinge arms, and worn hinge cups are all common. Replacement hinges are matched by type, such as concealed, butt or soft-close, and by how the door sits on the frame, whether overlay, inset or half-overlay. Fixing holes are repaired where they have worn out.
Hinge replacement works best when the door and frame are still in good condition. Humid kitchens and bathrooms and coastal air can cause corrosion, and heavy doors may need additional hinges. If the board around the hinge has crumbled, a simple swap will not hold and a reinforcement or panel repair may be required. Matching an unusual hinge is sometimes difficult, and alternatives can be proposed.
