Typical problems include lifting or bubbling vinyl, chipped or cracked tiles, swollen laminate edges, gaps between boards, squeaks, loose planks and surface scratches. Each has a different cause. A lifting corner may be dust under the adhesive, while swollen boards usually point to moisture. Finding the cause matters, because repairing the surface without fixing the source means the problem returns.
Repair methods vary. They may include replacing individual planks or tiles, re-bonding loose areas, filling gaps, colour-matched filling of chips and scratches, or levelling a dip. Success depends on matching the new material to the old, and discontinued or sun-faded flooring can be difficult to match. We are open about what can be blended and what will remain visible.
Repair is not always the answer. Widespread moisture damage, a failing subfloor or a floor at the end of its life can make replacement the more sensible path. We will explain this plainly. If water leaks are involved, the source should be dealt with first, and we can coordinate with plumbing services to avoid repeat damage.
