LED Lighting

LEDs differ in colour temperature and brightness, and the wrong choice can make a room feel clinical or dim. During planning, warm, neutral and cool tones are discussed in relation to the room's purpose, so a bedroom is not lit like a workshop. Control matters too, particularly where dimming or separate zones are wanted.

Compatibility is the most common technical question. LED fittings usually rely on a driver, and dimmable LEDs need a suitable dimmer to avoid flicker. When replacing halogen downlights, the existing transformers and wiring are assessed, since not every older arrangement can be reused without change.

LED installation suits cove lighting, kitchen under-cabinet strips, shop displays and general refreshes. Quality varies widely between products, and the finished result depends heavily on the fittings chosen, so it is worth deciding on them before work is scheduled.
