Outdoor Lighting

Exposure drives the choices. Fittings outside face intense sun, sand and, on the coast, salt-laden air, so enclosures, seals and cable routes need more care than they would indoors. Products rated for outdoor use are essential, and cables should be protected and routed so they are not exposed to irrigation, lawn equipment or foot traffic.

Design begins with how the space is used. Pathway lights, wall washers on a facade, step lights, pool-side fittings and garden spotlights each serve a different purpose. Positions and brightness are discussed to light the area attractively without causing glare for neighbours or dazzling people on the terrace.

Outdoor lighting suits villa gardens, majlis terraces, shopfronts and building entrances. Work near pools, irrigation lines or shared external areas needs particular care, and where fittings are on common property, you may need building management agreement first. Control by timer or switch is also worth deciding at the outset.
