Classic zig-zag herringbone floors in timber, engineered wood or vinyl, laid with careful setting out for a precise pattern.
Overview
Herringbone is one of the most recognisable floor patterns, with short planks set at right angles to form a continuous zig-zag. WrapRevive lays herringbone floors in Dubai villas, apartments and boutique spaces, where the geometry has to be exact for the effect to work.
Herringbone can be laid in solid or engineered timber, in vinyl or in laminate-style boards cut with matching ends. The pattern demands accuracy because errors compound across the room. A true herringbone uses boards with square ends, while chevron boards have angled ends that meet in a point. These are often confused, and we help you decide which look you want before ordering.
Setting out begins with finding the centre line of the room and checking that it works with doorways and sight lines. The pattern is built outwards from that line, with a straight starter edge. Cuts at walls and thresholds take time and waste more material than straight planks, so quantity planning matters. The subfloor must be especially flat, since small humps show across the pattern.
Herringbone adds character but also cost and effort relative to straight-lay flooring, and it can feel busy in a small room. We will give a view on scale, plank size and colour so it complements the space. If your budget or timeline points to a simpler layout, we will say so rather than compromise the geometry.
Final scope is confirmed in your written quotation after assessment.
