Repair work begins with looking at how the piece is made. Dowelled and glued joints can be re-seated, broken legs and rails can be pinned or reinforced, and split panels can be glued and clamped. Surface scratches, water rings and dents are treated by filling, sanding and refinishing so they blend with the surrounding wood as far as is practical.
Results depend on the timber, the age of the piece and the type of damage. Solid wood is usually forgiving, whereas thin veneer or particleboard that has absorbed water often cannot be rebuilt convincingly. Dry Dubai interiors and strong sun can also crack finishes over time. This service is best for solid or well-built items. Very low-cost flat-pack furniture is sometimes cheaper to replace.
