The first decision is where each piece goes, so heights and spacing are marked with a level and often a paper template. Fixings depend on the wall: solid concrete, blockwork, gypsum board and tiled surfaces each need different anchors. Heavy mirrors, for example, are fixed with load-rated anchors and checked so the hanging points share the weight evenly.
Results depend on the wall construction behind the surface and the weight of the item. Large glass or stone pieces may need two people and extra supports, and tiles require careful drilling to avoid cracking. Hanging suits framed art, decorative mirrors and wall clocks. For heavier fixtures such as TVs or shelving, TV wall mounting or shelf installation are the more specific services.
