Kitchen & Bathroom Renovation
Install a kitchen backsplash in tile or similar material to protect walls from splashes and give the cooking area a finished look.
Overview
A backsplash protects the wall between worktop and wall units from steam, grease and splashes, and it is often the feature that sets the kitchen's character. Installation involves careful setting out, cutting around sockets and a clean, even grout line. It suits new kitchens and kitchens whose walls have been exposed by worktop work.
The wall is checked for flatness, old adhesive and damp before anything is fixed. Setting out follows the height of the worktop and the wall units so that cuts are balanced and the pattern reads correctly. Sockets, switches and the cooker hood area are marked and planned for, so tiles are trimmed neatly around them.
A backsplash does not need to be a full renovation. Where the main kitchen is sound, it can be added or renewed on its own, and a wrap on the wall surface is only appropriate in lighter-use areas away from direct heat. Behind the hob, material choice matters, and we will explain the practical limits of the options you are considering.
Final appearance depends on the evenness of the wall, the tile size and pattern, and how carefully grout lines are finished. We confirm these points with you in the scope so the result matches what you expect. Samples of tile or panel are best viewed in the room itself, under the kitchen's own lighting, before a final choice is made.
Final scope is confirmed in your written quotation after assessment.
