Gypsum & Ceiling Works
Bulkhead installation in Dubai to box in beams, ducts and pipes, or to create level changes and lighting recesses in ceilings.
Overview
A bulkhead is a boxed-in section that drops from the ceiling to hide beams, ducts or pipework, or to form a design feature. WrapRevive builds them from gypsum, sized to the services behind and finished flush with the rest of the room. Careful planning stops them looking like afterthoughts.
Bulkheads are built from a light frame fixed to the slab or wall, then boarded and jointed like a ceiling. Dimensions depend on what they must hide, such as AC ducts, soil pipes or structural beams, and on access needed for maintenance. We take measurements on site, because services often sit differently from the drawings.
Design and function must be balanced. A bulkhead can echo a cove, frame a bed or tie into a false ceiling, but it also lowers the height locally and can affect lighting and furniture placement. Access panels may be needed for valves, isolators and cleaning points. We plan these before enclosing anything.
In apartments and offices, enclosing shared or building services may need building management approval, which the customer should check. WrapRevive can advise on the information typically needed. Final dimensions, access and finish are confirmed in the quotation after a site assessment. Photographs of the existing ducts or beams help us plan dimensions and discuss the best location for access hatches.
Final scope is confirmed in your written quotation after assessment.
