Textured Wallpaper

Texture does two jobs at once. It adds visual interest and softness, and it can mask minor surface irregularities that a flat paint finish would highlight. That makes it popular for older villas and well-used walls. It does not hide serious defects, though, so cracks, flaking paint and damp patches still need attention before any covering goes on.

Hanging textured paper depends on the material. Heavy, thick coverings often use a paste-the-wall approach and need firm, even seams, while lighter ones are more forgiving. Pattern direction also matters, since a vertical weave or grain should run consistently across every drop. We check the batch numbers and lay out the sequence so shading differences do not show.

Texture can collect dust and may be harder to wipe than smooth vinyl, so it suits bedrooms, lounges, offices and feature walls better than kitchens or children's play areas. We will talk through how the room is used, and suggest a wipeable alternative if cleaning ease matters more to you than the look of a particular weave.
