Overview
Silicone seals keep water out of joints, and when they fail they stain, peel or grow mould. WrapRevive removes worn silicone and re-seals around bathtubs, showers, basins, kitchen worktops, splashbacks and windows. A clean, even bead protects the joint and tidies the look of the room.
Good sealing starts with removal. The old silicone is cut out completely, residue is cleaned from the joint, and the surfaces are dried before new sealant is applied. A continuous bead is run along the joint and tooled smooth, with masking used to keep edges crisp. Joints must be allowed to cure before contact with water.
Results depend on how well the surfaces can be cleaned and dried. Persistent mould that has gone behind the silicone or into grout may need more treatment. In humid Dubai bathrooms, moisture is constant, so ventilation helps seals last longer. Silicone suits movement joints and wet areas. Cracked tiles or failing waterproofing underneath are different issues and may need tile repair or waterproofing instead.
