Architectural Vinyl Wrapping
Cover scratched, stained or dated kitchen worktops with a decorative film in stone, wood or solid colour, subject to suitability.
Overview
Kitchen worktop wrapping applies a decorative film to counter surfaces to give a stone, concrete or wood look without replacing the worktop. It is considered case by case, because worktops face heat, water, sharp tools and constant use. We assess the material and condition first and are open when wrapping is not the right answer.
A wrapped worktop can transform a kitchen visually, particularly when a dated laminate or marked surface is covered with a calm marble or concrete effect. The surface is deeply cleaned, edges and joints are checked, and the film is applied in as few pieces as possible so seams stay discreet.
Worktops are the hardest-working surface in a kitchen. Film is not heat-proof, can be scratched or cut by knives, and needs care near the hob and sink. We advise using chopping boards, trivets and prompt wiping of spills, and we discuss whether a wrapped worktop suits how you cook before proceeding.
Wrapping is usually best for light-use kitchens, rental properties, serviced apartments and kitchens where the existing worktop is flat, sound and securely fixed. If the worktop is swollen, delaminating, or you want a surface for heavy cooking, a renovation or replacement may be the better investment. We explain this honestly during the survey.
Final scope is confirmed in your written quotation after assessment.
Service Process
We inspect each surface for damage, swelling, peeling or heat exposure and confirm whether wrapping is suitable.
You choose a film design and finish from samples, viewed in your own lighting where possible.
Hardware is removed, surfaces are cleaned and degreased, and minor defects are repaired or filled.
Film is applied panel by panel, worked around edges and corners, and trimmed for clean lines.
Hardware is refitted, every panel is inspected, and we explain how to care for the new surface.

FAQ
No. Hot pans and kettles should always go on trivets or mats, because heat can damage or lift the film. We cover this in the care guidance.
It is best not to. Knives can cut the film, so a chopping board is strongly recommended.
Film around sinks and hobs needs well-sealed edges, and standing water should be wiped away. If the worktop is already swollen from moisture, wrapping is not suitable.
Flat laminate and some sound solid surfaces are typical candidates. Stone, heavily textured or damaged tops need assessment, and we confirm suitability on site.
It can be, but you should expect more wear than from a replacement surface. We talk through your cooking habits so you can decide with realistic expectations.
